The Survivalist Parts Manager

Unless you're a survivalist, you don't have a year's supply of food in your house. But does your parts manager have survivalist tendencies? Is your parts department overstocked with parts that are on the costly road to obsolescence? Poor parts management costs you money in two ways.

Revenue Booster: How "Free" Adds Up!

Social Media: New Top Of Mind & 5 Tips To Help You Create It

Top of Mind Awareness is one of those terms you hear thrown around a lot by marketing reps. Wikipedia defines it as "Owning the space that your product or service occupies between your prospects' ears. That way, when they're ready to buy they think of you first."  That's where social media comes in and why it's the new top of mind. Here are 5 tips to get you started in the right direction.

1. Start A Blog
There is no better way to create authority, top of the mind and influence than through the creation and authoring of your own blog.

2. Create A Facebook Fan Page
You have a fan page but it's not all that you thought it would be, or what you were lead to think it would be. Most people will tell you that you should pitch on your fan page, and odds are you're probably not.  What's the right way? Engagement. Spend your time asking though provoking questions, running contests and giving stuff away.

3. Don't Pitch, Let Others Do It For You
Strange that the less you pitch the more you sell from your social media efforts, but it's true! What if you did an ongoing, monthly contest where customers created videos about their experience with their sales person. Just think about how many videos you could have in just a few short months. These videos would most definitely build top of mind by influencing everybody that watches them.

4. Know Today's Customers
Customers today are too busy, skeptical, cautious, tired of all the sales pressure, and confused about all the choices available to them, you should adjust your marketing accordingly. Everything you do should address one or all of those. Social media is a great tool to do just that!

5. Top of Mind By Association

Being part of the clubs, groups, or associations your customers are part of is a great way to build top of mind. If you really want to create top of mind get out there and talk to people.

The bags are sewn inside special safety belts and pop out into sausage-shaped tubes in a crash.
Nissan Gets a Marketing Makeover With Leaf
Last winter, when Nissan Motor Co.'s executive committee for the Americas gathered to discuss the future position of the Nissan brand, one marketing mission became clear: it needed a makeover. The brand was stagnating in the market. Sales were inching forward, but new products just weren't catching fire.

Critical Building Blocks Can Help You Build a Strong Team
By Kevin Mehok

In life, champions are made, and championships are won. But unfortunately, getting to the championship level is difficult. It takes lots of hard work, dedication, sacrifice and effort. Most owners and players aren't willing to give the proper amount of effort needed to reach the championship level. Are you? Look around your shop, and ask yourself, "Are we all working as a team?" Do I have the right players?" In most cases, the answer will be "no."

Picking the right players is critical to building a solid team. There are so many aspects of this process. You need to have the right people for the right job. The next most important aspect of team building is you. How are you perceived? How do you manage? How you rally the troops is extremely critical. You must display the five critical building blocks of a strong team at all times: respect, trust, integrity, honesty and compassion.

The art of building a strong, loyal team has many aspects. Much like building a home, you have to start with a solid foundation of like-minded, well-trained and talented team members. That foundation is strengthened and fortified by quality materials and the five strong building blocks that are put into it as it begins to take shape. If you work at it, you can build a champion.

Is it The Right Pump?

Fixing cars the right way the first time should be top of the list for all automotive service departments. But sometimes technicians get bogged down by not having the right information the first time. A case in point is the 1998 Jimmy-Blazer Fuel Tank Dilemma. Moral of the story: By spending minimal time determining the type of fuel tank and/or module used in these applications, you can reduce part returns and increase customer satisfaction.  Click here to read more -- and then click on the image for excellent information on some of your favorite fuel pump problems!

Finding New Profits in Today’s Market

Convert Online Visitors into Leads with "Chat" Capability

Have you noticed -- showroom traffic isn't always in the showroom anymore. Even having an 800-number, or email contact, won’t bring you the kind of sales you’re looking to bring in and close. The real action is taking place in cyberspace as the shift to information online takes over and buyers expect speed and efficiency in everything they do.

Today, people don't have hours or days to complete the buying process.
So what are you going to do to bring in those sales?

Click here or click on the image and let ActivEngage introduce you to the concept of “live chat” and see what it can do for your bottom line!

First Mass-Market Electric Cars Arrive in Showrooms

Admittedly a big gamble for carmakers, as driver reaction is hard to gauge. Most are not true EVs, having hybrid or internal-combustion engine on board just in case, but there is no doubt that the age of the electric car is upon us. On hand at the Paris Motor Show were the Jaguar C-X75 powered by batteries that are recharged by miniature diesel-sipping jet turbines and the Mitsubishi i-MiEV made its debut last April. Governments are helping them along, but the apprehension of "range anxiety" is still with us.
